Useful Terminologies

 

Credit Card:
A credit card is a card issued by a financial company giving the holder an option to borrow funds, usually at the ATM or POS (Pledge has included a mobile option). Credit cards charge interest and are primarily used for short-term financing. A credit card is different from a term loan. There is no collateral attached to it, which means if you default on repaying your credit card, the lender cannot seize your property or car to recoup the loss of your non-payment. However, other recourse actions can be taken against you when you default on your loan including reporting the loan as non-performing to Credit Bureaus or reporting to your employers or taking legal action against you.

Offer Letter:
This is a written agreement between borrower (you) and lender (Pledge), detailing the terms and conditions of the credit card and the repayment. Please refer to the Provisional Offer Letter.

Repayment Amount:
The amount of money due to be paid back according to your agreement. This includes accrued interest and the principal.

Interest Rate:
This is the percentage charged for the amount utilized on your credit card. You only get charged interest on what you use. The Pledge Credit Card does not have a moratorium.

Credit History:
A record of one's ability to pay due obligations. It is a collection of how long the debt was held, how much was owed and how well one paid back the loan. A good performance on your credit history report is a good start to getting your credit card approved easily.

Card Account:
This is an account opened after the contract has been signed. The account is used to track the repayments made and the outstanding balance on the credit card. You can check your account details on the Pledge Mobile App.
